HANFORD, CA—Renewable Solar, Inc., a leader in the full-service engineering, construction, integration, asset management and maintenance of PV solar electric systems, is pleased to announce the energizing of the Danell Bros. 2.82 MW solar system. A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Friday, September 10, 2021 from 11am to 1pm. Guest speakers will include Congressman David Valadao. Other local dignitaries will also be in attendance.
Located south of Hanford at the Danell Bros. Dairy, the system sits on 11.6 acres and consists of 7,056–400 watt CPS Astronergy panels, 21 CPS North America 125kW 480v 3PH Inverters, and SolarFlex Single Axis Tracker Racking. Its estimated 1st year’s energy production is 5,691,971 kWh. The system will generate approximately $655,793 in savings in its first year. Which translates into $56,534 per acre. As utility costs increase, savings will increase respectively. Over the life of the asset, the system is estimated to produce over $20,376,000 in savings over utility costs.
With the coming changes in Utility Rate Plans, now is the time for businesses to try to lock-in their Net Energy Metering (NEM) agreement. NEM is one of a number of incentives that makes solar valuable for California businesses. It gives businesses the power to generate their own electricity. The new NEM 3.0 proposals, set to take effect in 2022, seek to impose increased costs and fees on utility customers. Depending on the system size, those fees could add thousands upon thousands of dollars to bills each month. The proposals are also seeking to lower the value of solar credits for new solar customers to pennies on the dollar. Electricity costs continue to rise at a rate of more than 8-10% per year. Customers converting to solar have an opportunity to “grandfather-in” to NEM 2.0 (a far more solar-friendly rate plan), but they have to act quickly.
